Broken windows and shattered homes,
Life was once normal here,
Now everything is encompassed in fear,
Any hope left is lost as the end is near,
Liars whose words are often coated,
With the sweet deceptions are also lost,
In this lost battle with our enemy, fate,
Acceptance is the only choice even if it is late,
Adults gave up on their wills and thrills of life,
But the children of war play with the rubble,
Bypassing the shards of glass, jumping around,
The zombie houses which were once their home,
Do not scare them like it does their parents,
They just play without a worry in the world,
Because no matter the direness of consequences,
A child’s innocence and wonder can trump them all,
Like an adamant sapling which sprouts and grows,
From beneath a crack in a strong rigid wall.
